Cool places in Barcelona, Spain!
Couple of weeks ago, we went to Barcelona for a short getaway and it was very fun! Barcelona is such an exciting and beautiful city filled with amazing architectures, delicious restaurants (I mean we’re talking about tapas or paella 😋) and nice beaches to relax during the day. We really recommend you to put Barcelona on your travel list! Therefore, we’d like to share a few cool places that you need to check when going to Barcelona:
1. Parc Güell
Barcelona’s most famous park. It’s huuuge and beautiful! We really really reaaaally love it. Parc Güell was designed by the famous architect: Antoni Gaudi, who has a very authentic style that you can see all over Barcelona. You can also enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Barcelona from Parc Guell.
2. Sagrada Familia
Sagrada Familia is a huge Roman Catholic church, again.. Designed by Gaudi. Unfortunately, we arrived late and the queue was very very long. It was still beautiful and worth the visit. We recommend you to book your tickets in advance for Sagrada Familia.
Address: Carrer de Mallorca, 401
3. Casa Batlló
Another masterpiece by Gaudi.. (we told you.. You will find more of his works all over Barcelona). Casa Batlló is one of the most popular tourist spots in Barcelona. Casa Batlló was previously a house and now it has turned into a very cool museum open for public. You can expect some weird (good kind of weird) staircases, hallways, doors and windows.
Address: Passeig de Gràcia, 43
4. Parc de la Ciutadella
Parc de la Ciutadella is one of our favorite places to just walk around while enjoying our yummy ice creams. Parc de la Ciutadella has a beautiful fountain that is definitely Instagram worthy. This park is well centered as it is located near the Arc de Triomf and zoo.
Address: Passeig de Picasso, 21
5. Plaça Reial & La Rambla
Plaça Reial is a very beautiful square near the Ramblas. The square is full of beautiful palm trees, bars, cafes and restaurants. It is the perfect place to enjoy your Sangria after walking on La Rambla. La Rambla itself is one of the most popular streets in Barcelona. Make sure to stop by the La Boqueria market to pick up some fresh fruits or other yummy goodies.
Where to Eat! 🍴
1. L’Arrosseria Xativa
Delicious restaurant for Paella! L’Arrosseria Xativa is small but cozy, the food was delicious and the wines were all great. The staffs were all very friendly and they also had the option of an English menu. Our favorite was definitely the Valencian Paella.
Address: Carrer del Torrent d’En Vidalet, 26
2. Cerveseria Catalana
Cerveseria Catalana is probably one of the trendiest tapas places in Barcelona. Locals and tourists are all excited about it! We were too busy munching the delicious tapas so we even forgot to take pictures :(. The place is well decorated and they have awesome tapas and sangria. Definitely a treat!
Address: Carrer de Mallorca, 236
Looking for a breakfast place? We recommend you to try the pancakes from Picnic! Picnic is located very closely to the Arc de Triomf and Parc de la Ciutadella. The pancakes were delicious, it was served with maple syrup, strawberries and creme fraiche. The pink lemonades were very refreshing as well.
Address: Carrer del Comerç, 1
I know we’re in Spain…. But we just love Sushi and Kibuka happens to be one of the best sushi places in Barcelona! Kibuka offers you fresh fusion and traditional sushi! It will take a while for you to get a table, but it’s worth the wait. Don’t forget to order the mochi for dessert! Yum
Address: Calle Verdi, 64
1. Platja de la Barceloneta
Barceloneta beach is the most popular beach in Barcelona and it’s filled with both locals and tourists. We prefer going to a much quieter beach but we still love Barceloneta for its beach bars and restaurants. The cosmopolitan neighborhood near the Barceloneta beach was really interesting to see.
2. Platja del Bogatell
The Bogatell beach is still relatively close to Barceloneta but the beach is much cleaner and more spacious. We really recommend this beach if you want to relax, sunbathe, or play sports. You can either play volleyball, ping pong or beach football.
